don't we all spend our friday nights doing diy projects?
well i sure do.
a couple months ago i purchased a red EAT sign for $12.00 from Caitlin Creer's yard sale.
the red seemed a little harsh and boring.
how to fix it?
mod podge of course.
i purchased this craft paper from michael's for $.79 a sheet.
traced the letters on the back of the paper,
cut them out,
and then began to mod podge.
i glued the paper to the letter and then covered the face of the paper in mod podge.

it was originally a piece of art.
i painted the frame the same color as my cabinets and painted the picture with black chalkboard paint.
total cost: $12.35
now time for a rug.
i have my eye on these two from urban outfitters.
i think the bold floral pattern compliments the geometric checkerboard floor.

i have also purchased some vintage plates from a thrift store that will be hung above my sink.
i would ideally like to tile the backsplash with white penny tiles.
simply perfect.
one step at a time.
